The Harbour Avenue development provides diversity and choice for people who choose to live in the City and enjoy the intrinsic quality of the harbour. The desire is to create a strong sense of place without indulging in romanticism and replication.
Contemporary forms are employed to produce a clean, crisp aesthetic, which in turn allows further surface modelling to create contrast and delight. Colour is introduced by the use of pre-patinated copper.
The accommodation is housed within a simply expressed series of cubes, which vary from four to nine storeys in order to relate to the immediate surroundings. The elevations are in turn crafted to give the glass and stainless steel balconies privacy and maximise daylight to living spaces.
